Phil is a partner at Bird & Bird specialising in IP/media law and reputation management.
Phil helps a wide range of corporate and celebrity clients to protect their reputation. He has also acted in a number of important defamation and privacy cases, including P, Q & R v Quigley, and Al Rajhi v Wall Street Journal.
Phil also has extensive experience of acting for clients in confidential information, copyright, trade-mark, passing off and advertising disputes. He has acted on a number of Copyright Tribunal claims, including the recent unique background music reference in which he earned refunds of licensing fees for the retail sector of approaching £5million/year, and the current Tribunal in relation to the licensing model for online news content. He also advises a number of well known companies on the exploitation and protection and their brands and their confidential information.
Chambers 2010 ranks Phil as a ‘Leading Individual’ for reputation management and praises him for being “level-headed and practical in his advice”.
