Catherine Robinson


I spent 4.5 years working for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission managing and contributing to corporate criminal investigations into illegal Ponzi and land banking schemes and engaging in litigation to enforce corporations law and market transparency. Since relocating to London in 2012 and joining Byrne and Partners LLP, I have represented clients facing criminal charges for various markets or fraud offences, internal investigations and FCA regulatory and disciplinary actions. Particular highlights have included:

  • Successful defence of Bruno Iksil (JP Morgan) in FCA disciplinary action
  • Successful defence of another individual in FCA disciplinary action concerning alleged LIBOR misconduct
  • Successful defence of private day trader Benjamin Anderson against criminal charges of insider dealing (Operation Tabernula).
