Toby Riley-Smith

Toby is an experienced advocate with a commercial and common law practice. He is consistently recommended by the Legal 500 and/or Chambers UK as a leading junior barrister in his principal areas of his practice, namely (1) Product Liability, (2) Health and Safety (3) Environmental Law (4) Consumer Law and (5) Banking and Finance.

He regularly appears in cases involving consumer products, pharmaceutical / medical devices, financial products, environmental pollution or disasters, health and safety proceedings (civil and criminal), sales of goods, international tort claims, cross-border disputes and commercial recovery actions. He has great experience of group litigation in such cases ' having acted in some of the most high-profile group actions of recent years.

He has appeared in courts in all jurisdictions and at every level - up to the House of Lords. He has particular experience in inquests.

He has recently been appointed to the Attorney General's Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown (A panel). He is one of the few appointees who had not previously served on the B or C Panel.
