Huw specialises in advising customers and suppliers on technology procurement and outsourcing, e-commerce and intellectual property ownership and licensing.
He is the author of The Commercial Appropriation of Personality (Cambridge University Press, 2002; published in Mandarin by Peking University Press, 2007); Privacy, Property and Personality (with A. Ohly and A. Lucas-Schloetter) (Cambridge University Press, 2005); three chapters in Outsourcing Law and Practice (Law Society, 2010); and was an Assistant Editor of Copinger and Skone James on Copyright (14th edn, Sweet & Maxwell, 1999). He writes a regular column for Outsource Magazine with his colleague Simon Briskman.
Huw speaks frequently on technology and new media issues, recent examples including presentations on: exit from outsourcing agreements at the Law Society; intellectual property ownership and exploitation to a leading global consulting services organisation; and personality rights in new and converging media to major global and pan-European broadcasting companies.
He is the author of the practice notes on ‘Contract Localisation’ and "Outsourcing IV – Exit’ in LexisPSL IP & IT and a contributor to other notes in the module produced by his colleagues at Fieldfisher, including ‘Open Source’ and ‘A Practical Guide to Service Level Agreements.’
