Biography

Biography: Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Insolvency since 1999, Stewart has been advising banks, accountants and commercial lenders for over 25 years. Previously an insolvency partner in a National firm he was one of the founders of boutique practice, Rennie McInnes LLP, in 2010. In 2011 the Firm was recognized in the Journal of the Law Society of Scotlandâ??s â??Whoâ??s who in Corporate Insolvencyâ?. Stewart advises on all types of personal and corporate insolvency with an emphasis on non-contentious restructuring and business and asset sales. Clients of the firm include NatWest Bank plc, Regency Factors plc and crowdfunders Funding Circle Limited. In relation of football he has advised consortiums of investors in the successful rescue of Clyde FC and in the somewhat less successful rescue of Gretna FC.

Stewart is one of the authors of â??UK Insolvency Client Strategiesâ? (ISBN-13: 978-0314199096) and is the President of Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce. He has tutored in Company law at the Glasgow Graduate School of Law. He is a regular attendee and speaker at conferences in Scotland and England.
