Biography

John Reeder QC is a leading silk in Shipping law.

He has been a full time practitioner since 1976, having been a lecturer in laws at the University of Birmingham from 1971 to 1976. He has also acted as Lloyd's Salvage Arbitrator for two periods to date: 1991-2005; and 2006-2009.

His practice is split between acting as an arbitrator and accepting instructions as counsel, covering all aspects of shipping and other commercial fields. He has also acted as counsel in major inquiries into shipping casualties

He has performed the role of Consultant Editor for the 5th edition Halsbury's Laws titles Shipping and Maritime Law (which was published in two volumes as vols 93, 94 in 2008) and Prize (which is due to published as part of vol 85 towards the end of 2012).
