Michael Parkinson

Michael is a professional support lawyer in the Private Client Department of Payne Hicks Beach, providing training and guidance on tax, trust and estate planning issues. Although Michael's current role is an internal one, his background is as an experienced private client practitioner. He qualified at Macfarlanes in 2002, became a partner at Russell-Cooke LLP in 2009 and then returned to Macfarlanes as a partner in 2013. He has advised private clients on a broad range of issues including tax and estate planning, wills, trusts, probate and the administration of estates (in particular estates with a cross-border element). He has also acted as an executor on numerous occasions and as a trustee of several private and charitable UK trusts. Michael is a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners and sat on the committee of the STEP Cross-Border Estates Group until 2018. He is also one of the authors of Butterworths' Wills, Probate and Administration Service.
