Scott is a Senior Associate in Kennedys’ Manchester office, having qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1998. For the past 17 years he has specialised in defending personal injury claims (both employers’ and public liability) acting on behalf of insurance companies, self-insured’s, Lloyd’s syndicates, public sector bodies and loss adjusters.
The majority of his work concerns injuries sustained in the workplace. His practice includes dealing with catastrophic cases and claims involving major orthopaedic injury, chronic pain syndrome and major psychiatric injury. In addition to pure compensation claims, Scott deals with some of the ancillary work, such as advising on health and safety matters and policy coverage issues.
Scott has particular expertise in transport, logistics, retail and construction sectors, where he contributes at an advisory level on strategic and health and safety related issues. Scott is involved in a number of collaborative training initiatives to improve claims defensibility. He also regularly appears as a guest speaker at industry related seminars.
