Raza leads the Commercial Disputes Practice in the Dubai office of Simmons & Simmons and is recognised as an Expert on International Arbitration in the Middle East. He specialises in high value and complex disputes across a number of sectors, including Financial Services, Energy and Infrastructure, and Aviation. He has advised and acted on behalf of Governments, Financial Institutions and a wide range of multinationals in matters of substantial importance involving the Laws of various MENA countries (including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait), England & Wales and Jersey.
He has been recommended in Legal 500 EMEA (UAE section) for his "technical know-how and skill in relation to complex matters".
Raza is the author of a number of leading books in their field, including Atkin's Court Forms, the Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents and Mithani: Directors Disqualification and has also written the Middle East and North Africa Chapter of International Commercial Arbitration Practice: 21st Century Perspectives. He has a special interest in arbitration in Saudi Arabia.
