Kenny Miller has taught at the University of Strathclyde since 1975, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 1988 and Professor in 1992. He was Vice-Dean (Academic) of Strathclyde Business School from 1995-99, Vice-Dean (Resources) from 1999-2002 and Head of the Law School from 2000-2003.

He was Deputy General Editor of the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia of the Laws of Scotland, and is a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society of Scotland. He is currently a Member and Deputy Chair of the Central Arbitration Committee.

Kenny Miller was previously appointed Deputy Principal in August 2000, with special responsibility for Quality Assurance and Teaching and Learning. He carried these and other student related duties into his term as Vice-Principal from August 2004 - July 2006. He was re-appointed Deputy Principal in 2006 and made Pro-Vice Principal in 2007 - 2008.
