Biography

Francis McManus is Emeritus Professor of Law in the School of Accounting, Financial Services and Law, Edinburgh Napier University. He specialises in Environmental law and the law of Delict, and has a particular interest in Noise law. He has carried out research for both the Scottish Executive and the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). He is Treasurer of the United Kingdom Noise Association (UKNA) which is the UKâ??s leading noise pressure group and also is its Scottish Chairman. He is also a member of a number of environmental organisations including the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association (UKELA).

Francis McManus has been a lecturer since 1975 before which he was an environmental health officer. He currently teaches Delict at Stirling University and Environmental law at Edinburgh University and University of Strathclyde. He is the author of a numerous books and articles.

Frank McManus is the author of the Reissue Food title for the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia.
