Alistair is a Partner in the construction department of CMS, specialising in non-contentious construction matters.
Alistair has extensive experience in advising clients on all major forms of construction procurement including traditional contracting, design and build, construction management, and PFI projects.
Alistair has acted for a variety of clients, including developers, consultants and investors, on complex development and regeneration schemes across the UK, providing advice on the drafting of building contracts, professional appointments and all other construction documents. These schemes include City and central London office developments, housing schemes, industrial parks, city-centre shopping malls and large residential apartment buildings.
Alistair qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and joined CMS in 2007. He writes a regular column in the RIBA Journal on current legal issues and principles for architects.
Alistair received an MSc in Construction Law & Arbitration from Kingâ??s College, London in 2004; this included a dissertation on direct payments from employers to sub-contractors where the contractor is insolvent.
