Alistair has a busy civil and commercial practice. He is particularly sought after in cases with international or cross-border elements, and has been instructed in a number of high profile cases including by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the Mau Mau group litigation brought in respect of alleged abuse in Kenya.
Alistair has appeared in the Supreme Court on four separate cases on points of jurisdiction and applicable law, including Moreno v Motor Insurersâ?? Bureau and Brownlie v Four Seasons Holdings Inc. As sole counsel, he recently succeeded in obtaining declaratory relief in respect of class actions worth approximately £7 million and regularly appears against Queenâ??s Counsel.
In addition to his practice in the UK, in 2016/2017 Alistair spent a significant period of time working in a leading Middle Eastern law firmâ??s Dubai office, dealing with commercial litigation in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
