Sumiya Basha

I spent over 20 years in private practice as a lawyer, most recently as a partner in the Kennedys Sydney office and before that, in the Kennedys London office.

I dealt mainly with large scale insurance losses and insurance disputes often with litigation or dispute resolution involved. I acted for many insurers and Lloyds syndicates based in London, Australia and Asia Pacific. The matters I dealt with on behalf of insurers was varied to include financial losses, fraud, property damage and product liability. I also advised on non contentious and regulatory issues in and out of the jurisdiction.

I am currently a freelance lawyer working on specific projects and assignments from time to time, mainly for in house clients.
