Vicky Ling

Vicky is a Chartered Quality Professional and Management Consultant, Vicky Ling has worked in the voluntary sector, for local government and the Legal Aid Board. She was one of the first Liaison Managers appointed by the LAB to implement its Quality Assurance Standard, Franchising.

She has advised over 200 firms of solicitors in England and Wales and many not-for-profit agencies providing legal advice. Her areas of expertise include all aspects of winning and maintaining LSC contracts. She has in-depth knowledge of LSC appeals, costs compliance and contract awards.

Vicky has also been involved with the Law Society of England and Wales' Lexcel standard since it was first developed and has assisted many firms of solicitors to implement its requirements and achieve accreditation.

Vicky was the author of the Law Society's original guides to Civil and Criminal Contracting and co-author (with Simon Pugh) of "Understanding Legal Aid". She edited 'The Carter Survival Handbook', published in 2007. 'Making Legal Aid Work' (with Simon Pugh) was published by Legal Action Group in 2009. The LAG Legal Aid Handbook 2011-12 was published in May 2011.

Vicky has been involved with Citizens Advice for over 25 years as a specialist caseworker, manager and currently as a Trustee Board member.

Vicky has served two terms as a member of the Civil Justice Council, and took a particular interest in access to justice issues and support for unrepresented litigants.
