Tim has a particular interest and background in advising companies in the energy sector. Tim's experience focuses advising on the regulatory, policy and transactional aspects of a wide range of existing and proposed climate and renewable energy legislation in the UK, EU and internationally, particularly in the context of corporate and finance transactions.
Tim’s experience encompasses monitoring developments and advising clients on issues such as incentives regimes, environmental and energy permitting, the international climate change negotiations and the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. He has extensive experience of advising on power purchase agreements, grid connection arrangements and fuel supply / offtake agreements. Tim also has extensive international carbon markets experience, including structuring and implementing international carbon reduction projects in the regulated (CDM and JI) and voluntary markets.
Tim studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science and at the Sorbonne, and speaks fluent French. He has worked as a lawyer in London and Paris in leading UK and US firms. He lectures on a range of UK environmental law and renewable energy topics at The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London).
