This Practice Note explains how the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (MSA 2015) applies to multinational organisations and group companies. It considers a number of key issues these organisations may face in complying with the letter and spirit of the disclosure obligation in section 54 of the MSA 2015, such as due diligence, risk assessment, and responding to the risk of modern slavery. It also deals with the thorny issues of responding to actual or suspected modern slavery, how to set modern slavery key performance indicators, and instances of overlap with other human rights initiatives.
