Bob Ashcroft is an associate in the London office of Mayer Brown's construction & engineering group. He advises clients (including contractors, engineers and suppliers) on all aspects of construction and engineering law, with a particular focus on dispute resolution in the UK. A significant part of his work involves the conduct of adjudications, where he has experience of acting for clients who have been retained as contractors and sub-contractors.
Bob acts on high-value and multi-party disputes in litigation and has successfully argued a number of adjudications. These include disputes relating to contract terminations, defective works, payment issues and delay, disruption, and loss and expense claims. He is experienced in the issues arising from many different projects, including residential and retail developments, water treatment works, office buildings and laboratories, and renovation and refurbishment works.
Bob joined Mayer Brown in 2010 as a trainee and qualified in 2012. Prior to this, Bob worked in the telecommunications and computer software industries and was a pro bono manager at a leading London law school, where he opened and ran a legal advice centre for the benefit of individuals unable to pay for legal advice.
